Three new markets, opening at two times

OKX has announced three spot markets quoted in Polish złoty, or PLN. USDC/PLN is scheduled to open on 30 September 2026 at 05:00 UTC, followed by BTC/PLN and ETH/PLN at 07:00 UTC. For eligible users, the change is a direct PLN-denominated market for buying or selling each named crypto asset.

The announcement asks users to check availability in the app. It does not publish a country-by-country eligibility list, a special trading fee or a new PLN bank-deposit and withdrawal service. Those details should not be inferred from the appearance of PLN in a trading pair.

What a PLN quote means

OKX’s spot-trading guide explains that a pair contains a base asset and a quote currency. The first is what you buy or sell; the second expresses its price. In ETH/PLN, for example, ETH is the asset and PLN is the unit used to quote the trade. This distinction separates the quantity of crypto from the amount of money exchanged for it.

Use an invented price of 10,000 PLN for one ETH. At that price, 0.02 ETH corresponds to 200 PLN before fees. A request to spend 200 PLN and a request to buy 200 ETH are obviously different orders, even though both contain the same number. Reading the unit beside an amount matters just as much as reading the digits. None of these example prices reflects a live OKX quotation.

A market listing and a payment method are different

OKX separately documents buying crypto through BLIK, the Polish payment method. That guide, last updated on 13 August, limits BLIK purchases to verified Polish customers. Its described checkout flow asks for a crypto asset and PLN amount, shows a preview, and requires authorization in the customer’s banking app. This is a payment flow with its own access rules.

The same dated guide describes converting PLN into EUR to calculate the crypto purchase because a PLN order book was not maintained. The new listing announcement changes the expected market lineup from 30 September, but does not explain whether BLIK checkout pricing or settlement will change with it. We therefore do not treat the old explanation as proof of the new pairs’ settlement mechanics, or the new pairs as proof that every payment feature has changed.

Compare an actual quote, not a familiar label

The BLIK guide says its processing fee is displayed before confirmation. A spot order and a payment checkout can therefore present their costs differently; this announcement supplies no fixed all-in comparison. Compare the crypto quantity actually received and the total PLN outlay for the same intended purchase, including any charges shown by that route.

For a purely illustrative comparison, suppose Route A shows 200 PLN for an order and another 3 PLN in charges, while Route B quotes 204 PLN in total for the identical crypto quantity. The comparable totals are 203 and 204, not 200 and 204. If the two routes instead deliver different quantities, the totals alone no longer answer which quote gives more crypto for the money. Divide each total by its delivered quantity to put them on a common basis. These invented numbers do not describe either OKX service’s fees.

Choose an order with its price condition in mind

OKX’s spot guide distinguishes a market order, which seeks the current market price, from a limit order with a specified price. It also explains that orders are matched with buyers or sellers. That distinction matters when interpreting a launch time: a market appearing in the app does not itself tell you the price at which your intended quantity will trade.

In another hypothetical example, seeing an offer for a small amount does not establish the cost of buying a much larger amount. Assess the quantity and the resulting order preview together. For the opening itself, keep the two scheduled times separate: the first pair’s availability does not establish that the later two have opened. Check the named market and your account’s displayed funding and payment options before proceeding.

Keep the amount and its unit together

Use the invented 10,000 PLN per ETH price from the article.

  • 0.02 ETH

    200 PLN before fees

0.02 multiplied by the illustrative 10,000 PLN price.

  • 200 PLN

    0.02 ETH before fees

200 divided by the same illustrative price.

  • Add a charge

    Compare the total

An invented 3 PLN charge would make a 200 PLN purchase cost 203 PLN.

Educational arithmetic only; prices, charges and execution are not live. [2] [3]

WHAT TO REMEMBER
  • The quote currency expresses the price of the base asset.
