What Aave Labs bought
Aave posted on its official X account on 6 November 2026 at 15:09 UTC that Aave Labs has acquired the team and technology behind Avon, described as one of the leading companies working on fixed-rate lending onchain. The post links to a full announcement on the Aave Labs blog.
The blog says Avon built fixed-rate and floating-rate lending markets and an onchain order book for onchain lending. It also says the acquisition includes Avon's technology, domains and related assets, and that the Avon team will continue developing this technology in the Aave ecosystem under Aave Labs.
Who is joining Aave Labs
Prince Sinha and Ayush Kaul join the Aave Labs engineering team, and Omar el-Ashaal joins as an Associate on the business development team. Aave Labs says they will help build new capabilities such as fixed-rate lending across Aave's network and product layers.
Stani Kulechov, Founder and CEO of Aave Labs, said fixed rates are among the products users already rely on in traditional finance, and that the Avon team has worked on hard problems in onchain lending. Prince Sinha, Founder of Avon, said joining Aave Labs lets that work reach institutions, fintechs and everyday users at scale.
Our take
This is a team-and-technology deal, not a same-day product switch for Aave App or Aave Pro users. Fixed-rate markets are the capability Aave Labs is pointing at; when those markets actually open, Aave will need another official post, and we will cover that then.
