ICX holders face three separate cutoffs

Bitvavo is removing ICX from its exchange on 2 October 2026. Existing holders need to distinguish selling their tokens, moving them elsewhere and leaving them for conversion into euros.

On that Friday, deposits close at 13:00 CEST, trading at 14:00 and withdrawals at 15:00. In UTC, those times are 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00 respectively. A later withdrawal cutoff does not extend the trading window.

What happens to orders and remaining balances

Bitvavo’s general delisting guide explains that unexecuted orders are cancelled when trading stops. An open sell order is therefore not evidence that a sale has occurred. The same guide warns that deposits of a delisted asset may not be credited and could be lost. Delisting means the exchange is removing a supported market; it does not, by itself, describe what every other platform will do.

The ICX notice schedules automatic EUR conversion for 12 October or earlier. It also warns that the displayed euro value can temporarily become zero after trading stops, before sale proceeds are credited. That display is not a confirmed final sale value.

The general guide says conversion depends on market conditions and its rate cannot be guaranteed. Bitvavo lists several factors used in asset reviews, but these are general criteria, not findings that establish a particular reason for removing ICX. Readers should not interpret the list as an accusation of misconduct by this project.

A euro estimate is not a promised payout

Consider an entirely invented holding of 100 tokens. At an assumed conversion price of €0.20 each, the arithmetic gives €20; at €0.15, it gives €15. Neither figure is a forecast, an ICX quotation or a guaranteed payout. These simple calculations exclude any applicable costs.

The difference is useful when comparing the token quantity with a euro estimate on a screen. The quantity answers how many units are involved; the estimate expresses those units at a particular price. A prior estimate, the amount originally paid and the eventual sale proceeds are three different numbers. Treating them as interchangeable would hide precisely the price uncertainty that matters during a conversion.

Check whether withdrawals are enabled

Bitvavo’s dedicated setup guide says accounts without two-factor authentication have crypto withdrawals disabled. Two-factor authentication, usually shortened to 2FA, adds a second verification step to the account password. Enabling it is an account prerequisite, separate from choosing where to send an asset.

The guide directs users to Security settings, enable 2FA, and complete the withdrawal-enabling bank verification process. It describes a deposit of €1 or €0.01 from the linked bank account to verify ownership. Those figures concern account verification, not the cost of sending ICX. PayPal is not supported for this activation step. Follow the amount and method shown in the relevant settings rather than treating either published amount as a universal withdrawal fee.

Prepare and review the external transfer

Bitvavo’s withdrawal instructions require an address-book entry for the destination and permit transfers only to wallets belonging to the account holder, not third parties or another Bitvavo account. They also warn that certain security changes, including password or 2FA resets, can impose a 24-hour withdrawal block. A published cutoff does not override an account restriction.

On the website, open the asset, choose Withdraw, select the destination, confirm the network, enter the amount and review the request before confirming it. The guide also describes email confirmation and possible destination verification under the Travel Rule, the rules governing information about crypto transfers.

Check the network and destination together, and review the applicable fee. The instructions warn that an executed blockchain transfer cannot be cancelled. They do not provide a fixed ICX fee in this notice. Preparing an address is therefore different from completing a transfer; retain the withdrawal record and check the receiving wallet’s record as well.
