What Ledger launched
Ledger announced on its official X account on 5 November 2026 that Ledger Wallet now connects directly to Liquid, and explained the integration in a product post on its blog the same day. Users connect their Ledger signer to Liquid, check the deposit on the signer with Clear Signing and Transaction Check, and then trade on Liquid.
Ledger presents this as a way to trade fast without giving up hardware security: the private keys stay on the signer while the trading itself happens on Liquid.
What Liquid is
Liquid is a front end for trading perpetual futures, built on Hyperliquid and other decentralized perps exchanges. Perpetual futures, or perps, are leveraged contracts without an expiry date that let traders go long or short. Liquid gathers more than 500 markets in one interface, covering crypto, equities, pre-IPO companies, commodities, FX and prediction markets, and uses the on-chain order books of the underlying exchanges. Ledger says Liquid is backed by Paradigm and other venture investors.
How the Ledger connection works
Instead of a browser-extension wallet sitting between the user and Liquid, Ledger Wallet connects directly. Every transaction is signed on the Ledger signer. Clear Signing shows the details in readable language on the device's secure screen before approval, so the user is not blind signing a string of data. Transaction Check adds a simulation of the outcome and can flag known malicious contracts or unexpected behaviour.
At launch the feature works on desktop in Chrome, Brave and other Chromium-based browsers, on Ethereum, Base and other supported EVM chains. All Ledger signers are supported except the original Ledger Nano S.
Limits and risks
Liquid is a third-party service; Ledger says it is only the technology provider and does not recommend using any particular service. Leveraged trading can lose all of the money put in, and a hardware signer does not remove trading or liquidation risk. Availability depends on eligibility and jurisdiction, and Ledger's X post notes that the offer is not intended for the UK.
Our take
Perps traders tend to keep funds in hot wallets for speed, which is exactly where most losses from bad approvals happen. Signing each Liquid deposit and trade on a Ledger with readable details is a meaningful safety upgrade. It protects the keys, not the position, so leverage still needs careful sizing.
