OKX Wallet is removing specified research features

OKX Wallet’s 25 September 2026 notice removes several DEX discovery tools. A DEX is a decentralized exchange. Surge is being discontinued on app and web. Vibes analytics and popularity scores are removed, while Feed remains in the app. Within Signal, the app loses Gems and Activity; the web loses Activity. Radar is unaffected. Mentions is removed on the web.

The app changes apply from version 6.189.0. Earlier versions may retain features without guaranteed maintenance. The notice supplies no separate web deployment time and does not announce a shutdown of the wallet or DEX trading.

Identify the question a missing tool used to answer

A research routine often develops around familiar screens. Someone opens the same view, notices a name near the top and decides what to investigate next. When the screen changes, the immediate inconvenience can obscure a more useful question: what information was that person actually using?

Consider a fictional trader who used one page to find frequently discussed assets and another to inspect recent activity. The first page helped choose a subject for further reading. The second helped examine a particular kind of evidence. Replacing both with whatever page remains visible would not necessarily preserve either purpose.

Writing those purposes in plain language is a useful first step. “Find subjects people are discussing” describes a question. “Open the blue tab” describes a navigation habit. The question can still guide research after an interface changes, while the navigation instruction may have become obsolete.

Rebuild the sequence without inventing an equivalent

Imagine a three-step personal routine: choose an asset to investigate, write down why it attracted attention, then look for evidence supporting or contradicting that initial impression. If the first step disappears from an interface, the whole sequence need not be treated as a single broken feature. The missing step can be identified on its own.

The reader can then decide whether another information source answers the same question. That decision requires examining what the alternative actually measures. A list sorted by trading activity, for example, is not automatically a list sorted by the number of people discussing an asset. A score and a stream of individual posts also present information in different forms.

These are independent examples of research design, not descriptions of replacement tools offered by OKX. The retirement notice does not establish that a remaining feature supplies the same data as a removed one. This article therefore maps the announced changes without ranking substitutes or claiming an automatic migration path.

Preserve the meaning of older notes

Suppose a person’s journal contains the entry “high score, investigate later” beside a token name. After the relevant screen changes, the entry may no longer explain what was measured, when it was observed or what conclusion the person intended to test. The problem is the missing context in the note, even if the original observation was accurate.

A stronger fictional entry would record the date, the named measure and the reason for following up. It might say that a particular display prompted a question, while leaving the answer open. That separates observation from interpretation. If the display later disappears, the reader still knows why the subject entered the research queue.

This distinction also prevents a product change from being mistaken for market evidence. An asset dropping out of a personal routine because a screen was removed does not, by itself, show that its underlying situation improved or deteriorated. The cause of the missing observation belongs in the record.

Check the platform scope before changing instructions

People often share short instructions without specifying whether they describe a phone or a browser. A feature name may sound sufficient until the platforms change in different ways. The useful revision is then a precise statement of which step applies where, rather than a broad assertion that everything has disappeared.

For a team maintaining a research document, an imagined review might begin with the two instructions most often used. Each would be matched to its intended platform, its purpose and the information it expected to produce. Any step that cannot be verified would be marked unresolved instead of silently redirected.
