LunarCrush adds a market indices ribbon with the S&P 500, NASDAQ and VIX to its Stocks page

A market strip for the Stocks category

LunarCrush, the social analytics platform that tracks what people say about coins and stocks online, added a market indices ribbon to the Stocks category of its site. The company announced it in a two-post thread on its official X account on 27 October 2026 and said the ribbon is already live for users.

Six instruments, three readings each

The ribbon sits above the Stocks category cards and carries six instruments: four equity indexes (the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&P 500, the NASDAQ and the Russell 2000), the US 10-year Treasury yield and the VIX volatility index. Each one shows its current level, its change in points and its change in percent.

A small pill next to each reading says whether the market is open or closed. LunarCrush says this follows the real exchange session, not the age of the last quote, so a stale price after the close is not shown as a live market.

Overlay charts from one hour to all time

Clicking any instrument opens an overlay chart with seven ranges: one hour, one day, one week, one month, six months, one year and all time. LunarCrush's pitch is that an analyst can check whether a jump in social activity around a stock moved with the wider market, without leaving the page.

Our take

This is a small convenience feature rather than new data: index levels are available on any finance site. Its value is context. A burst of posts about one stock means something different on a day when the whole market is falling than on a quiet day, and having both on one screen makes that easier to judge. LunarCrush did not say whether the ribbon also appears in its API, MCP server or apps, so for now treat it as a website feature.
