Moonshot adds saved payment cards to its MoonPay-powered checkout

What was announced

MoonPay said on its official X account on 23 October 2026 that saved cards are now live on Moonshot, pitching them as payment methods kept ready for the next trade. Moonshot shared the news on its own official account later that day, describing its onramp as powered by MoonPay. An onramp is the service that turns a card payment into crypto, here inside the Moonshot app rather than on a separate MoonPay page.

MoonPay's short launch video shows the flow: a card is added once on an "Add debit card" screen marked as powered by MoonPay, and later deposits open a "Deposit using" sheet where saved cards sit at the top, above Apple Pay, connected apps, crypto and other options. The amount is then entered and the deposit confirmed with a swipe.

How the saved card is shown

Moonshot's post quoted a thread from the MoonPay side that walks through the screen. According to that thread, the card that has already cleared a crypto purchase is labelled Recent, chosen by default and listed first; each card shows its brand logo and last four digits rather than the full number. The thread also says MoonPay passes expiry dates to partners, so a card close to expiring can be shown in yellow and an expired one in red with an option to update it.

Background and open questions

Saved cards were already part of the plan when MoonPay announced on 25 September that Moonshot had moved to its headless onramp, which lets Moonshot design the purchase screen while MoonPay handles payment processing and compliance. That announcement said the integration is live across Moonshot's supported markets and points readers to moonpay.com for country availability. The October posts do not restate fees, limits or which countries can use saved cards, and they do not explain how to remove a stored card, so the deposit screen and MoonPay's terms remain the place to check before buying.
