What Phantom announced

Phantom, the self-custodial crypto wallet, has added a referral program called Refer & Earn. In a post on its official X account on 21 October 2026, the company said users who invite friends get 25% of those friends’ trading fees, while the friends get 10% off their own. Users find their personal code under Refer & Earn in the app. Phantom repeated the message the next day.

How the fee share and rebate work

Phantom’s help article fills in the details. The referrer’s 25% is calculated on the net trading fees Phantom actually receives from a friend’s eligible trades, which cover spot swaps, perpetual futures and prediction markets. It starts once the friend funds the wallet and makes a first eligible trade, and it lasts three months. Where Phantom earns no net fee on a trade, there is nothing to share.

The new user’s 10% is a rebate, not an upfront discount: full fees are charged at trade time and 10% is paid back later, for three months from signup. Both sides are paid in CASH, Phantom’s dollar stablecoin, to the Phantom Cash balance, at most once a day and only after earnings reach $1. Phantom may ask for ID verification first, and its terms note that fee-share payments may be taxable income.

Limits worth knowing

A code is a Phantom username, shared as phantom.com/r/ followed by that name. It can only be entered when creating an account in the Phantom mobile app, not in the browser extension or Phantom Terminal, and it cannot be added afterwards. Once signed up on mobile, swaps made later in the extension still count.

The terms ban self-referrals, multiple accounts, wash trading and paid ads that bid on Phantom’s name, and Phantom can change the rates or end the program. Availability also depends on where you live: perps are not offered in the US or the UK, and prediction markets are not offered in the US, the UK or Germany, so referrals from those places mostly earn on spot swaps.
