What Base announced
Base's official account posted on 6 November 2026: "Stripe Global Payouts is live on Base. US businesses can now send USDC and OUSD to crypto wallets in 160+ markets." The post included official Base and Stripe artwork. No launch ceremony or separate Base blog post came with it; the claim rests on that post plus Stripe's own product docs.
Who can send, and where it can land
Stripe's documentation says payouts with stablecoins are available only to businesses located in the US. Crypto wallet payouts are listed as a public preview for those US senders, with New York businesses directed to request access rather than using the open preview. Recipients receive stablecoins over a supported blockchain network in more than 160 markets. Stripe publishes the country list on the same docs page; check that list before you assume a destination is open.
USDC and OUSD on Base
For crypto wallet payouts, Stripe's table lists USDC on Arbitrum, Avalanche C-Chain, Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, Stellar and Tempo. OUSD is listed on Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. You can fund payouts from a USD or USDC balance in your Stripe Treasury financial account. Stripe says to confirm that the recipient's wallet supports the stablecoin and network you choose before you send.
Speed and how it works in practice
Stripe says crypto wallet payouts typically arrive within minutes, though network conditions can delay final receipt. In the Dashboard flow, a business adds a recipient and wallet, chooses the crypto wallet payout method and destination currency, then confirms and submits. Stripe also documents API paths (Payout Intents and Outbound Payments) for the same Treasury-funded flow. Fees and exact limits are on Stripe's Global Payouts pricing and payout-methods pages, not in Base's post.
Our take
This is a practical rails story, not a consumer app launch. If you are a US business already on Stripe Treasury, Base is now an explicit path for both USDC and OUSD wallet payouts. Recipients still need a wallet that actually supports the asset on Base. For holding USDC on Base yourself, the Base app offer on this page is the one we highlight.
