What Binance said
Binance says it has now covered $6 billion of the money lost in its hot wallet hack. In a short post on its official X account at 03:04 UTC on 1 November 2026 (04:04 in Amsterdam), the exchange wrote that it has already covered $6B of the impacted amount of the hacked loss. The post quotes Security Incident Update #3 from the day before.
An hour earlier, at 02:08 UTC (03:08 in Amsterdam), Binance had posted the same figure as a reply in its SAFU transfer thread. Neither post gives a percentage, a token breakdown or a new timetable; the update is the dollar amount alone.
How it fits the earlier updates
In Update #3, at 14:30 UTC on 31 October (15:30 in Amsterdam), Binance said the covered amount was up to 90% and that BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC were fully backed. Recovery Update #2 on 30 October put the loss at approximately $6.3 billion, and Update #3 said Binance had set aside more than $6.34 billion in company funds.
Binance has not said how the new $6 billion figure relates to the 90% share, so readers should not treat it as a new percentage. Update #3 also said the full zero-knowledge Proof of Reserves, which lets users check that their own balance is backed at least 1:1, is estimated by Tuesday 3 November (UTC).
Withdrawals are still paused
Crypto withdrawals have not reopened yet. At 03:16 UTC on 1 November (04:16 in Amsterdam), Binance's official customer support account told users that crypto withdrawals remain temporarily paused while the team works towards a safe restoration of the service, and that P2P and fiat withdrawal options remain available where supported.
Binance's last dated target, from Update #3, is to reopen withdrawals on Sunday 1 November 2026, today. Exchange.news will add the reopening and the full reserves proof when Binance announces them on its official channels.
