Krak added hotel booking inside its app
Krak launched Concierge on 31 March 2026 with hotel bookings supplied through Entravel. The announcement described access to more than 2.2 million hotels and resorts and rewards of up to 6%. Flights were planned for later, rather than included as a completed launch feature.
The release's booking terms matter as much as the reward headline. Entravel processes bookings; Krak is not the accommodation supplier or merchant of record. Prices, taxes and cancellation rules are set by the provider. Geographic restrictions apply, and advertised maximum discounts do not establish that every room is cheaper than every alternative.
[1]A hotel offer contains several separate products
Two listings for the same hotel can describe different purchases. The room category, number of guests, breakfast, cancellation deadline and payment timing all affect what the traveler receives. A percentage discount becomes meaningful only after those elements are aligned.
Consider a traveler attending a conference whose dates are not yet confirmed. A lower non-refundable price and a slightly higher refundable price solve different problems. Treating them as identical because the hotel and nightly date match would hide the cost of uncertainty. The relevant comparison is the entire stay under the conditions the traveler actually needs.
An illustrative comparison after cashback
Imagine two offers for the same room and dates. Offer A costs €600 and, under an explicitly assumed 5% reward, would return €30 after eligibility is satisfied. Its reward-adjusted cost would be €570. Offer B costs €580 without a reward. On those assumptions, A is €10 cheaper after the reward, although it requires paying €20 more initially.
Now change A's reward to an assumed 1%. The return is €6 and the adjusted cost becomes €594, making B €14 cheaper. The room did not change; the applicable reward did. This is why an “up to” number cannot be substituted for the rate actually attached to a booking. These offers and rates are hypothetical, not sampled Concierge prices.
The timing also matters. If the traveler needs €50 for transport before a later reward arrives, a projected cashback amount is not the same as money available for that trip expense today. Comparing initial payment and eventual cost as separate figures gives a more realistic view of the travel budget.
Cancellation flexibility can outweigh the apparent saving
Add an invented cancellation condition to the comparison. Suppose Offer A becomes non-refundable immediately, while Offer B remains cancellable until two days before arrival. A traveler with confirmed plans may reasonably prefer the lower adjusted cost. Someone awaiting a visa or a meeting decision may value the flexibility more.
For a simple thought experiment, imagine a €30 saving paired with a possible €600 loss if the trip is cancelled. A cancellation probability of 5% would correspond to €30 of expected loss in a purely mathematical model. Real decisions involve more than that calculation, and the probability is not known. The example shows why even modest uncertainty can be important relative to a small advertised saving.
It would be equally misleading to imply that refundable always means better. A traveler with fixed plans might choose a lower price after understanding the tradeoff. The purpose of a comparison is to expose the choice, not to impose one booking preference on every reader.
Follow the booking, not just the card charge
A completed payment and a confirmed room are related records, but they answer different questions. The payment shows what was charged; the booking confirmation identifies the stay and its conditions. If a travel plan changes, the traveler needs the document that states which cancellation policy was accepted and who processes the request.
The launch creates a convenient place to browse and pay, while the accommodation remains a service delivered by a hotel through a booking provider. That relationship makes the confirmation particularly important. A card reward cannot replace the room description or establish an exception to its cancellation terms.
Concierge's March launch is therefore a useful extension for Krak customers already planning hotel stays. Its strongest case is a clearly comparable booking whose full price, conditions and applicable reward can be understood before payment. The announced inventory size and maximum reward explain the ambition of the service; the individual booking determines whether it represents good value for a particular journey.

Compare fictional hotel prices
An original hypothetical exercise. Select a case.
| Case | What it means |
|---|---|
| 5% assumed reward | €570 eventual cost An invented €600 booking minus €30 of assumed reward gives €570. |
| 1% assumed reward | €594 eventual cost The same booking minus €6 gives €594. Both examples exclude changes to booking conditions. |
