LunarCrush now shows only the posts actually about an asset when you click a spike on its charts

A cleaner answer to what caused a spike

LunarCrush, the social analytics platform that measures what people post about coins and stocks, has changed what you see when you click a point on one of its charts. The company announced the update in a two-post thread on its official X account on 30 October 2026.

Until now, clicking a spike to find out what caused it could return what LunarCrush itself calls "a wall of noise": posts that mention four other tickers at once, exchange adverts and accounts nobody recognises. Now, when you click any day or hour, the card shows only the posts and creators that were actually about that asset in that time window. LunarCrush says this works on every chart on the site.

How to use it and what was cut

To try it, open any asset's chart and click a day. In the follow-up post LunarCrush explained the trade-off behind the filter: promotional accounts are noise to an analyst, but they are a signal to anyone trying to track who is pumping a ticker. The company did not say whether that promotional activity can still be viewed elsewhere, or whether the same filter applies to its API and MCP data.

Our take

This is a small change with a practical payoff. The whole point of social analytics is to explain why attention around a coin jumped, and a click that returns unrelated promo posts defeats that. If you use LunarCrush to research a sudden move, the cleaner card should make it quicker to find the posts that started it. Just remember the trade-off LunarCrush itself names: if you are specifically hunting for coordinated promotion, the filtered view may now hide some of what you are looking for.
