What changes for paid indicators

TradingView announced on September 30 that sales of access to invite-only scripts must move to its Marketplace from November 1, 2026. Scripts are the indicators and strategies authors provide on the charting platform; invite-only means access is restricted to invited users. The change affects creators selling these tools and customers paying for them, including access bundled with another paid service. Non-commercial use can continue.

The announcement protects access purchased before the cutoff for its already-paid duration, including lifetime purchases. It prohibits further outside payments to renew, extend or maintain access after the cutoff. Vendors continuing such payments without contacting TradingView about joining Marketplace face their scripts being blocked.

A free label does not necessarily make a script non-commercial

Section 23 of TradingView’s Terms of Use defines commercial use broadly. It includes requested donations or tips, use in a business, and using a script, its description or a profile to promote paid services or generate commissions. TradingView decides whether a use qualifies and can impose account or script restrictions for violations following November 1.

For an author discussing a transition, our suggested preparation is to explain the whole arrangement, including what existing customers have already bought and how payments relate to access.

Separate an existing entitlement from the next purchase

For a reader checking an existing purchase, the useful comparison is between the original receipt and any proposed replacement offer. Write down the script name, seller, purchase date and period covered. Then ask the seller to identify which part of the proposal preserves that purchase and which part requires a new payment. This is our suggested record-checking method, not an additional TradingView requirement.

It prevents two different decisions from being mixed together: keeping something already paid for and buying access for a later period. A move between payment systems should be understandable at that level before a customer assesses a new package or price.

How a Marketplace subscription works

TradingView’s Creator Program uses Paid Spaces: collections of an author’s invite-only indicators and strategies offered for a recurring monthly charge. Both free and paid TradingView users can subscribe, currently through the website. TradingView handles billing, access and renewals. Cancelling in account settings leaves access active until the billing period ends. Applicable sales taxes can be added, so compare the checkout total with the advertised subscription price.

A changed author price applies to existing subscribers from their next billing cycle; their earlier rate is not locked in. For creators, the current platform fee is zero percent, with advance notice required before a change. That does not eliminate other costs or obligations: the program requires an active Premium or Ultimate plan and restricts participation in some regions, including Iran, North Korea and Russia. The named countries are examples, not an exhaustive eligibility list.

Program terms also require original, functioning content, accurate descriptions and ongoing maintenance during the subscription. These obligations explain what the service relationship covers; they are not a forecast that an indicator will produce profitable trades.

What authors need before applying

The public Creator Program application guide requires a Premium or Ultimate subscription and at least one publicly visible invite-only indicator or strategy published more than three months earlier with at least 100 boosts. Meeting those thresholds permits an application; it does not guarantee acceptance. TradingView reviews submissions and sends its decision to the account’s registered email address, without promising a review time.

The guide describes selling a bundle of scripts through TradingView rather than collecting payments on another website. An approved author can then set up a Paid Space. Affected vendors are asked to contact TradingView’s creator team before November 1 about migration and existing customers.

In practical terms, preparing an application and agreeing how earlier purchases will be handled are separate pieces of work. Our suggested preparation is a simple inventory: which scripts are sold together, what each customer group purchased, and where the next renewal would otherwise be collected. That makes the unanswered transition questions concrete instead of treating submission of an application as proof that the migration is complete.

Check a proposed transition

A suggested order for comparing your existing purchase with a new offer.

  1. 1. Original purchase

    Read your receipt

Identify the script, seller, purchase date and period you already paid for.

  2. 2. Proposed change

    Separate preservation from renewal

Ask which part keeps the original purchase and which part requires another payment.

  3. 3. New package

    Compare the full offer

Review its tools, total cost and renewal conditions before making a separate purchasing decision.

These are editorial comparison steps, not an account eligibility check. [1] [3]

WHAT TO REMEMBER
  • Previously purchased access and future renewals need separate treatment.
