What Base announced
Base, the Ethereum layer-2 network incubated by Coinbase, said on its official X account on 28 October 2026 that Season 2 of its Creator Grant Program is live. The headline promise is a grant of up to $4,000 for creating content about Base, and the thread ends with a link to the application form.
It is the third Base grant track opened this week, after the Trencher Grant Program for meme-community leaders and Season 2 of the Builder Grant Program for product teams, which offers up to $5,000.
How Season 1 went
Base says more than 2,700 creators applied in the first season and five were backed: Late Night on Base, Base Bro, Rob Keane, BaseJunkie and Yan Paing Aung. Creators who missed out are invited to apply again and show their impact in views, reach and campaigns, and Season 1 grantees were asked to tag creators they would vouch for.
Who can apply and what the form asks
The form says Base is backing independent creators who are already making good content about Base and its builders. It lists five profiles: writers (deep dives, memes, analysis and threads), streamers and live-show hosts, creators running a recurring show, independent video creators, and educators covering Base in their own language.
Applicants are asked how long they have been creating, how often they publish, where, and for which audience and region. The form also wants total impressions or views for the last three months, links to the two or three best pieces with their stats, and which Base builders or projects they have covered. Second-time applicants are asked what changed since their last attempt.
The fine print matters: grants are subject to a signed grant agreement, Base picks winners and amounts at its sole discretion, and winners go through identity verification and are responsible for applicable taxes. Base did not publish a deadline, the number of Season 2 grants or eligible countries.
Our take
With roughly one grant per 540 applicants in Season 1, this is not a sign-up bonus. It rewards creators who already have a track record on Base, so the strongest applications will lead with real numbers from the last three months.
