A new connection for local-currency payouts

RedotPay announced a partnership with Nium on 8 October to expand the infrastructure behind its international payouts. This matters to customers who want digital assets to arrive as ordinary money in a recipient’s account. Nium supplies a payment network spanning 100 currencies and 190 countries, which RedotPay intends to use when extending its coverage.

Those figures describe the partner’s network, rather than a list of newly available RedotPay destinations. The announcement does not name the additional markets or give their opening dates. It says stablecoin connectivity comes through regulated blockchain infrastructure partners, while payouts travel through Nium’s licensed payment network. The agreement therefore describes the infrastructure connection; it does not establish that every customer can already use every route.

What an off-ramp does for the recipient

An off-ramp converts digital assets into conventional currency. RedotPay’s existing Send Globally product illustrates the customer-facing purpose: someone sends crypto, and a bank account or e-wallet receives local money. The destination can belong to the sender or another person. The recipient-facing result is therefore different from simply moving the same digital asset between two crypto balances.

The product page includes a transfer-screen illustration showing an amount sent, an exchange rate, an amount received, an arrival date and a fee. That artwork accompanies this article to explain the interface. Its figures are illustrative, not a current quote or evidence that Nium supplied that particular transfer. The page explicitly labels its exchange-rate examples as fictional.

The existing transfer steps still matter

RedotPay’s sending guide, dated 22 July, describes a sequence that predates this partnership. Start in the app’s Send section, choose the currency and amount, then select a saved recipient or enter new account details. Review the information before confirming. This is existing product documentation, not evidence that the Nium announcement changed the app’s controls.

The guide says minimum and maximum amounts depend on the chosen currency and appear while setting up the transfer. A destination being reachable is therefore only one part of the decision; the proposed amount must also fit the displayed range. A general network-coverage figure cannot answer that amount-specific question.

Arrival estimates likewise depend on the receiving method, currency and destination. They appear before confirmation. The guide supports personal accounts only and excludes business accounts. Sending to another individual must consequently be distinguished from paying a company: both may involve a bank account, but the documented recipient restriction is different.

Read the quote and the recovery rules together

The companion FAQ requires an account, identity verification and a funded crypto balance. It excludes USDs from transferable balances. Fees vary with the currency and receiving method; the app shows the fee and recipient amount before sending. For a USD transfer over SWIFT, a recipient or intermediary bank may also deduct a handling charge.

Exchange rates can move while the sender waits. RedotPay says the rate becomes fixed when the transfer is confirmed. An earlier preview is therefore not the same as the confirmed rate, and a provider’s promise of competitive pricing does not replace the amount displayed for that transfer.

The FAQ also distinguishes failures from mistakes involving valid accounts. A failed transfer returns funds to the RedotPay balance automatically. Once processed, a transfer cannot be cancelled. If funds reach an existing account whose details were entered incorrectly, RedotPay says it cannot reverse them and directs the sender to the recipient’s bank. Checking the destination is consequential even when the payment infrastructure works correctly.

A practical way to evaluate the expansion

Treat a newly announced payment connection as a reason to examine a specific transfer, then compare the information needed to complete it. Keep a short record of the intended recipient, intended currency and required arrival date before opening a quote. This suggested reading method turns broad coverage claims into concrete questions without assuming that an announcement settles the answer for every customer.
