What the connection makes possible
Kraken has joined TradingView through Kraken Pro, allowing eligible customers to place supported crypto spot and margin orders from Supercharts. The connection route is Trade, then Kraken, then sign-in. The update brings the order interface alongside the chart.
For someone already studying a chart, fewer screens may make the workflow easier to follow. The important next step is understanding which operations belong to the charting interface and which remain account functions on Kraken Pro.
[1]What remains on Kraken Pro
Kraken’s current integration guide requires a verified account, available funds and a supported region. Deposits, withdrawals and account management remain on Kraken Pro. It lists market, limit, stop and stop-limit orders in TradingView, while futures, xStocks and certain advanced order types remain outside this integration.
The guide says Kraken trading fees are the same through either interface, with the same volume-based fee tier and no additional integration charge. It also distinguishes working orders from filled positions in the account manager. Check the order-confirmation setting: the guide describes both confirmed and instant placement, so a chart interaction should not be assumed to be a harmless preview in every configuration.
[2]A simple way to understand the two roles
Think of the chart as the place where you inspect and prepare the instruction, and the account as the place where the resulting trading record must make sense. For a first review, write down the instrument, side, quantity and intended price condition before touching an order ticket. Compare those four items with what the ticket actually displays.
Here is an invented example with no live order. You intend to review a purchase of two units with a price reference of 50. The base arithmetic is two times 50, or 100, before any costs. If the ticket instead contains twenty units, the corresponding amount is 1,000. A single extra zero changes the exposure tenfold even though the chart and price level look the same.
This illustrates why keeping the chart and ticket together is useful only when the order details remain legible. The convenience of fewer screens does not remove the need to read the instruction. Treat the calculation as a check on what you typed, not as an estimate of a guaranteed execution or final balance.
Separate submission from completion
A clear personal record distinguishes an instruction you considered, an order you submitted and a trade that actually occurred. If you intended to acquire two units but the account record shows one filled, write down one filled. Do not let the original intention replace the result when calculating what you now hold.
For another hypothetical comparison, suppose the one filled unit has a recorded price of 49.80. Its gross consideration is 49.80, rather than the 100 you originally used to describe two units at 50. The remaining quantity and its order status are separate items to inspect. This example explains bookkeeping, not the integration’s matching rules.
Keeping these stages separate is especially helpful if you return to the chart later. A visible order line, a notification and a position entry may relate to the same plan, but the actual account record is the basis for describing what happened. Record changes or cancellations explicitly instead of assuming that closing a chart changes the underlying order.
Choosing whether the integration helps your workflow
We would evaluate the connection by whether it reduces mistakes and unnecessary switching for the tasks you already perform. Start by checking the connection and reading the account display before attempting a live action. There is no requirement to place a trade merely to understand how the integration is arranged.
The examples below compare two order quantities at the same invented price. It does not connect an account or submit an order. The TradingView offer on this page concerns the charting service; it should not be read as a new Kraken fee schedule. Use the official integration guide for supported behavior and the account’s own confirmation for the terms of a particular transaction.
Check the quantity arithmetic
Choose an illustrative case to follow the explanation.
- Two units at 50
Base amount 100
Two times fifty is one hundred, before costs. This is an input check, not a fill.
- Twenty units at 50
Base amount 1,000
Twenty times fifty is one thousand. An extra zero changes the assumed amount tenfold.
Original learning exercise; no live market data or account action.
- The integration is for eligible accounts and supported products.
