From a gradual start to every eligible US user
Phantom said on its official X account and blog on 28 October 2026 that prediction markets in its app are now rolling out to all eligible users in the United States. On 23 October the wallet had said US access would begin gradually and expand over the following weeks; this announcement widens it to everyone who qualifies.
The markets still come through Kalshi, a CFTC-registered exchange and Phantom's first US partner for this product. Kalshi handles the required customer checks, approves and holds each trading account and executes the trades users submit from Phantom. The blog repeats that Phantom itself is not registered with the CFTC and that the markets are offered by KalshiEX LLC.
What is new in the app
Phantom highlights three features. Every market has its own live chat, so traders can read other views and post their own while the odds move. Events show real-time prices and live scores. And placing a prediction works like swapping a token, with the money coming from the user's Phantom Cash balance, which is held in Phantom's CASH stablecoin. When a position is cashed out, the proceeds go back to that balance.
At launch the menu covers three groups: short-dated up or down markets on some crypto assets such as Bitcoin, including contracts that settle every 15 minutes; professional and college sports; and markets on the economy, politics, AI and other current events.
How to get started, and the limits
Access arrives with the Predict tab. When it shows up, users go through Kalshi's standard onboarding and can then trade. Anyone who already has a Kalshi account can link it and skip verification, and Phantom Cash users who have already verified their identity with Phantom's other regulated partners can pass those details to Kalshi instead of typing them in again.
Kalshi's state-level restrictions apply by market category, so a market visible in one state may be missing in another. Phantom warns that trading event contracts carries substantial risk of loss, including the entire amount invested. It did not publish fees in the announcement.
Our take
The main change for US users is reach and convenience: the feature is no longer limited to a first wave, and funding from Phantom Cash removes a step. A 15-minute Bitcoin contract can be decided before you finish reading the chat, so treat these markets as high-risk bets, use small amounts and check which markets your state allows.
